HOW TO BE A LIFE SAVER/ACTS OF KINDNESS
A few weeks ago I decided to sign up for the Antony Nolan register. This means that one day if I match up with someone else, I'd be able to donate blood, stem cells or bone marrow. Although I already give blood. My blood group is quite popular however some people have rare blood types and so it's very important to encourage others to give blood if you can.
1) Sign up to Antony Nolan Trust
https://www.anthonynolan.org
If you are eligible, this is a very kind act to do. All you have to do is pop your details in online and they send you a spit kit. Then all you have to do is send a saliva sample back to them to check it's okay for you to give and they send you a thank you note back. They also encourage you to share to your friends what you are doing and urge you to encourage others to follow.
2) Give blood
https://www.blood.co.uk
Again if you are able to it's one of the best things you can do. I believe you must be 17 and not anaemic. They check your iron levels on the day before giving blood anyway though. And hey you get a free biscuit and cup of tea out of it! This is so you don't pass out, and they can check on you for 10 minutes to make sure you're okay.
3) Learn First Aid.

If you can take a basic training course great. There are some free courses running sometimes it's just finding them, but if not have a look at free videos online demonstrating CPR, or what to do if someone is having a heart attack/chocking or suffering from shock. From minor things to major incidents, you never know if you'll witness/ be involved so it's always best to be as prepared as you are able to be, because this could be life saving.
4) Leave water outside for animals.
British winter leaves us with a lot of rain, so normally in the winter it isn't too bad, however in hot summer months water can sometimes be luxury for animals particularly wild ones. I care about animals just as much as humans. I'm sure there will be a fox or dog that appreciates a water bowl outside the front of your house or even hidden in the bushes.
5) Feed the homeless
How easy is it to walk past the homeless and think, are you really homeless or are you just trying to make the quick bob or two? You should go with the the first thought and assume they are sitting there because they have to not because they want to. There are many projects you could get involved with where a van load of people deliver hot chocolate and warm sandwiches to get there energy up. Or maybe you have a apple or orange in the bottom of your bag you didn't eat that day at work, you could offer?

How to have an awesome Halloween!
1) Make plans with people
Make sure you're either partying, staying in watching scary movies or getting yourself to the local theme park. It will make your halloween if you actual plan what you are doing. You could invite some friends round to watch your fave halloween movies, or go to the cinema and watch the latest thriller (if you are old enough to get in).

2) Make halloween treats.
Pinterest is a great place to find creative halloween goodies! I tried out these spider web cookies, they look and taste amazing! Toffee Apples are delicious too!
Here are some of my fave recipes:

Whether you are going out or staying in, Halloween is a time for fun. You don't have to dress up scary, you can do whatever you like. This year I am deffo going full out Galinda (Wicked).

4) Make memories!
Take lots of pictures, play halloween related games, and laugh a lot! Bobbing apples is a classic but can be hilarious. Just do it safely!

5) Pumpkins!
It wouldn't be halloween without a pumpkin. I think the best bit is picking them out. So instead of going to your supermarket, make an outing to pick out your favourite orange friend. You could even pick up a pumpkin spiced latte on the way. ;)
